While axion rotating headrests do exist, they aren't bluetooth-powered like RestALS is. This allows for patients with ALS to still control some head movement without a caretaker.
Versatile and Adaptable for All Stages of ALS
RestALS's rotational angles for side-to-side motion as well as reclined and upwards motion have been researched through product experimentation. This means that at any stage of ALS, whether they have a low or high range of motion, RestALS guarantees comfort and safety for the user.
Flexible for Use with Other Technology
Additionally, RestALS will able to be paired with current assistive technology, such as Eyegaze Technology. This will allow the user to control the headrest and their movement on their own. Additionally, this will ensure that the implementation of RestALS into their daily routines is not disruptive or confusing.
Creates Independence and Promotes Mental Health
Independence for patients with RestALS is crucial to their mental health. RestALS not only improves neck spasticity and relieves physical pain, but also takes some of the responsibility off of the caretaker, improving the lives of both caretakers and patients.
